Here are pictures of the present day 1860's gold rush town of Bannack, Montana where the notorius Sheriff Henry Plummer and his outlaw gang terrorized people until local citizens came together as vigilantes and put an end to them. Bear Creek, although fictional, was probably its equal.
The photos below are of the area just above the present day mining town of Gilmore, Idaho. This is where the fictional Keller family described in Pursuit of Glory would have lived.
Cabin near one of the mines above Gilmore.
Ore chute near mine.
Possibly an office building near the mine?
Cluster of old buildings near one of the mines above the town site of Gilmore.
Chasing Demons selected as 1st in category for the Chanticleers 2019 Laramie Award. My wife and I had a great time at the Chanticleers Writer's conference and awards banquet in Bellingham, Washington this past April. Beautiful setting right on the ocean for a very nice affair. So honored to have received this award as well as being a semi-finalist for the Goethe and Somerset awards for my novel Unfortunate Words.
Receiving the award. Makes all the long hours of writing worth it!
My wife and editor, Debi. All decked out for a night of good food and fun.
